The box-office collections of Venkatesh and Trivikram Srinivas’ much-hyped family drama Aadarsha Kutumbam (House No. 47) have reportedly declined on the second day. According to a leading distributor, the film managed to collect just over Rs 4 crore in share collections across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Day 2.
“It has collected around Rs 4 crore-plus share on the second day in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is not a good sign for a big-ticket film,” the distributor said.
The film reportedly opened to average numbers in the Telugu states, collecting over Rs 6 crore in share collections on its first day. The opening figures were below trade expectations, as distributors had hoped for a much bigger start, considering the combination of Venkatesh and Trivikram.
The duo had earlier delivered memorable entertainers such as Nuvvu Naaku Nachav and Malliswari. Their reunion after nearly two decades had naturally raised expectations among moviegoers.
However, the film’s different treatment appears to have affected its initial reception.
“This is a dark thriller with comedy and marks a new genre for both the actor and director. Unlike their earlier fun-filled entertainers, they have attempted a crime drama blended with family emotions. This has resulted in a mixed response in the Telugu states,” the distributor pointed out.
Venkatesh has delivered a solid performance in a dark role, while Trivikram has retained his trademark comic touch in certain portions. However, these elements have not been enough to generate the expected audience response.
The film reportedly needs to recover around Rs 43 crore in share collections in the Telugu states, making its box-office journey challenging. The coming days will be crucial in determining whether it can pick up momentum.
