Jennifer Lawrence has been dominating the fan discussion forums lately. From launching her Instagram account to admitting to undergoing breast augmentation, the actress has been making headlines. She generated even more buzz when she looked unrecognizable in a recent photoshoot, sparking rumors of cosmetic surgery. Following that, the actress opened up about how her body permanently changed after childbirth and how difficult motherhood is.
Jennifer Lawrence said her body never bounced back after welcoming two children
Jennifer Lawrence recently got candid about how her body permanently changed after becoming a mom during her appearance on an October 2026 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. During the conversation with host Alex Cooper, who is expecting her first child with Matt Kaplan, she was taken aback by hearing Jennifer’s no-filter words.
The 36-year-old actress, who has two sons with her husband, Cooke Marone, was asked what she was “completely unprepared for” about her motherhood journey. Answering the question, Jennifer said that it was her lower body change. “Your va—a will bounce back, your butt—e won’t,” she told Alex Cooper. The 32-year-old podcaster was seemingly stunned by Lawrence’s blunt response.

Alex followed up by asking “what’s going to happen” to her a–s. Jennifer humorously replied, “I’ll tell you. I will tell you when I can get into a heated place,” probably referring to the cold temperature in the studio. She even joked, “I’ll show you.” Jennifer Lawrence’s words left Alex a bit concerned, and she told The Hunger Games actress to tell her what happens to postpartum butth— but by downplaying it, so she would not worry too much about it.
Jennifer replied, “There’s no going back. That thing is coming out.” The two of them further talked about the difficulties of raising a baby.
Jennifer Lawrence used to think she was a bad mom and suffered from postpartum depression
Jennifer stated, “I don’t think I’ve ever just gotten into bed and been like, ‘Wow, God, I’m such a good mom.’ And I know I’m a good mom.” She made the comment because she heard from others that mothers are supposed to understand from their kids’ cries what they actually want, which Jennifer failed to do.

But deep in her heart, the actress knew that she was a good mom, but as she couldn’t differentiate between the various kinds of cries of her kids, she sometimes doubted herself. In her words:
“You’re unprepared for all of it, and everybody is like, ‘Your instincts, your instincts.’ You have no idea what you’re doing. I remember women being like, ‘You’ll be able to hear the difference with the cries.’ And then I’m like, ‘I can’t hear the difference with the cries. I’m such a bad mom.'”
After welcoming her second baby boy in early 2025, Jennifer even struggled with “bad anxiety” and “bad postpartum” depression, and she got out of it by joining a “mom community” and interacting with them. She recalled that one of the moms gave her a hug when she needed it and then taught her how to better balance her career and personal life. A grateful Jennifer stated:
“I remember when I had bad postpartum with my second, I got in the elevator, and one of the moms was just like, ‘Are you okay?’ And I just wasn’t. And I was just like, ‘I’m really scared. Every day I have such bad anxiety. I feel like I’m being chased by a tiger.’ And like one of the moms heard and hugged me and just gave me her number and just talked to me.”
