Adverse weather conditions caused by cyclone Murasu disrupted several flight services at four airports in Andhra Pradesh — Vijayawada, Bhogapuram, Rajamahendravaram and Tirupati — on Monday.

At Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram, four flights were cancelled. They included IndiGo services 6E7730 from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada, 6E7702 from Visakhapatnam to Tirupati and 6E716 from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad, besides Air India Express flight IX2413 from Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada.

At Vijayawada International Airport, Air India cancelled 10 flights to destinations including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kurnool. Air India Express cancelled two more flights. Fly91 continued to operate its services as scheduled.

At Rajamahendravaram airport, Air India cancelled all five scheduled flights on November 2 and November 3 as a precautionary measure. The services covered sectors including Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai. Fly91 continued to operate as scheduled.

At Tirupati airport, IndiGo cancelled three flights to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru.

Airports Authority of India officials said airlines were informing passengers in advance about cancellations, delays and diversions. Passengers were reaching airports accordingly, and no major inconvenience had been reported.

The officials said the airports remained operational, while airlines were cancelling or diverting flights as a precaution in view of the weather conditions.
