The reality star introduced her boyfriend, Pete, to her fans on social media on August 18, 2026. Now, in an interview with PEOPLE, she is opening up for the first time about him.
Janelle Brown reveals how she met her new boyfriend, Pete
Janelle Brown had shared a cosy, loved-up picture with her new beau, Pete, to first introduce him to her followers. While speaking with the outlet, the Sister Wives star admitted that she was very surprised when the post did so well. She claimed that when she met Pete, she wasn’t looking for anything and was completely happy with the way her life was. However, everything changed when she decided to go on a random blind date.
Janelle said that viewers will get to see the blind date in question on this season of Sister Wives. She said that it was one of those things that she didn’t expect as she went with her friend who wanted to go out for the evening. She shared:
“And yeah, I had no idea. I had no idea. So I did not actually talk to Pete before we met for dinner. I didn’t even know what he looked like. I had no idea. It was truly a blind date.”
Janelle Brown explained that her friend, Alice, was the one who knew Pete. She invited him to come and have dinner with Janelle, referring to her as a person on television. Pete agreed without thinking much of it. Janelle recalled:
“And I might have known his name; I didn’t see a picture of him. I didn’t know anything. My friend Alice told me she’d shown Pete a picture of me and said, ‘Don’t look her up. Don’t look up anything.’ And he didn’t.”
They then met up and had dinner at The Stratosphere. At one point, when Christine, David Woolley, Pete, and she were talking, he asked Janelle how they all knew each other. That’s when Christine informed him that she and Janelle were previously married to the same man at the same time. Pete said that while he knew about their show, he never watched it, so he barely had any idea about the marriage.

In the same interview, Janelle revealed that when she and Pete first started talking, their relationship was all long-distance. As things started to get serious between them, the reality star warned him about “this whole thing that comes along with my life.” But it did not faze Pete. Instead, he assured Janelle that it was completely fine.
Opening up about the type of person Pete is, Janelle Brown said that he is just like your average nice guy. She said that he doesn’t have a lot of crazy things going on and promised her that he would go along with her and that it was all good, so she didn’t have to worry. She added:
“He doesn’t have a huge ego. He’s not high maintenance. He loves me so much, and I feel cherished as well as loved. And he wants to take care of me. He’s old-fashioned. He’s always opening up the door for me, and he’s always like, ‘I don’t want you to drive that far.’ I’m like, ‘I’m fine, honey.’”
