A female co-pilot aboard the Learjet 60 is heard screaming to an air traffic controller in the chilling last moments before the plane nose-dived straight into the ground around 1 p.m. on November 1, 2026. She also sent a haunting Mayday message. The last words of the 20-year-old female co-pilot were quoted as saying:
“Holy f–k we’re out of time. We’re descending 8,000, mayday, mayday, we’re descending 10,000 feet per minute. We are in an overspeed condition, descending 20,000 feet per minute. We’re going to crash into the ground.”

According to a report by The New York Post, the co-pilot who died in the Florida plane crash was Nathalia Gadelha, a 20-year-old who got her pilot license while she was still in high school. The doomed Learjet co-pilot was heard pleading for help in the harrowing air traffic control audio before the private jet crashed. Nathalia’s mother, Camila, and her stepfather confirmed to The New York Post that she was the co-pilot flying a Learjet 60 from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas.
Nathalia grew up in Palm Beach County. She got her private pilot’s license at just 17 back in October 2023. The young aviator got her pilot license before she got her driving license. She was previously featured in local media, CBS12. At the time, she jokingly said:
“I definitely do brag because people say, ‘Oh, you can’t drive,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, but I can fly.'”
Nathalia began her pilot lessons in 2020. Her father also taught her how to fly an aircraft. She attended West Boca Raton High School. She graduated from American Flyers, a flight training school based in Addison, Texas, which also has a branch in Pompano Beach, Florida. Later, Nathalia attended the Aviation Academy run by the School District of Palm Beach County. The programme was introduced in 2023 and helped her pay for her pilot’s license.
In the same interview with CBS12, Nathalia said that she used to fly every day and had spent a total of 88 hours flying aircraft as part of her training. She also spoke about passing the knowledge test. The 20-year-old dreamed of becoming a commercial airline pilot one day. Further, in the 2023 interview, Nathalia shared that she liked being different from others. She said that it was unusual and exciting that she could fly an aircraft when most people her age couldn’t.
Nathalia explained that she hadn’t prioritized getting her driver’s licence because she had focused on learning to fly instead. The young aviator found it funny that she could operate an aircraft but didn’t have a regular car driver’s licence. She said:
“I like being different from everyone, so to me I think it’s cool that it’s not really an opportunity. I just didn’t do it, and this is how it ended up. But I think it’s cool.”
