Welcome to Week 10 of The Courier Journal’s college football picks!

All of our stalwart commonwealth teams are back in the lineup this week, and they’re all on the road. Kentucky football will head to Tennessee; Louisville will be at Georgia Tech; and Western Kentucky will play Middle Tennessee. The other two games we’ll predict are Texas at Missouri and Miami at Notre Dame.

The Courier Journal’s Week 10 College Football Picks

Here’s a look at this week’s picks. As is our custom, predictions are straight-up winners and losers (not against the spread), with rankings based on the latest US LBM Coaches Poll. All times listed are ET, and all odds listed are per DraftKings as of Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Louisville at Georgia Tech

How to watch: Saturday, 7:30 p.m., ACC Network

The picks: Eight for Louisville

Betting line: Louisville -14.5, over/under 61.5 points

After three early losses, the Cards are on a three-game winning streak heading into their third road game of the season. (Wow, three must be their lucky number!) This week’s matchup feels very favorable for UofL, with its offense continuing to impress while Georgia Tech‘s defense struggles. The Yellow Jackets’ scoring and total defense are third-to-last in the ACC. Their rushing defense is last, which is tough considering all the firepower Louisville has at running back.

No. 7 Kentucky at No. 16 Tennessee

How to watch: Saturday, 6:15 p.m., ESPN

The picks: Six for Tennessee, two for Kentucky (C.L. Brown, Brooks Holton)

Betting line: Tennessee -6.5, over/under 50.5 points

The Wildcats (7-1, 5-1 SEC) are back in action this week and hoping to stay in front of the SEC standings. The Vols are 6-2 overall, 3-2 in conference play. So this edition of the regional rivalry game is poised to have big SEC championship implications. Tennessee has owned the series, winning five in a row and 12 of the past 15. (UK’s win in 2011 snapped its 26-game losing streak vs. the Vols.) A loss would be a hit to UK’s College Football Playoff resume but not detrimental to its odds. A win for Tennessee would keep the Volunteers in the hunt. Keep an eye on UT’s quarterback situation. As of writing, it’s unclear whether George MacIntyre (the starter for Tennessee’s first five games) or Faizon Brandon (the starter for Tennessee’s last three) will take the field first.

Western Kentucky at Middle Tennessee

How to watch: Saturday, 3:30 p.m., ESPN+

The picks: Five for WKU, three for Middle Tennessee (Payton Titus, Alaina Morris, Brooks Holton)

Betting line: Middle Tennessee -1.5, over/under 53.5 points

The Hilltoppers are on a seven-game winning streak against the Blue Raiders. The series overall, though, is very tight. Nicknamed the 100 Miles of Hate rivalry for the teams’ geographical proximity to each other along U.S. Route 231, WKU holds a 39-35-1 advantage over the past 75 years. Both squads are coming off conference losses (WKU fell 35-21 to Delaware, and Middle Tennessee lost to Kennesaw State 44-28) and hope to bounce back in style.

No. 11 Texas at No. 19 Missouri

How to watch: Saturday, noon, ESPN

The picks: Four for Texas, four for Missouri (Payton Titus, Jason Frakes, Brooks Holton, C.L. Brown)

Betting line: Texas -2.5, over/under 43.5 points

The Longhorns are getting ready for their first true road game in over a month, their last being Sept. 26 at Tennessee. And they’ll have their work cut out for them, as Missouri is 4-0 at home. The Tigers sit only behind the Wildcats with fewest turnovers in the SEC (five, including two interceptions). Missouri has the turnover margin advantage with +8 (ranked No. 8 in FBS) compared to Texas’ -3 (98th).

No. 1 Miami at No. 6 Notre Dame

How to watch: Saturday, 7:30 p.m., NBC

The picks: Six for Notre Dame, two for Miami (Ryan Black, Brooks Holton)

Betting line: Notre Dame -5.5, over/under 57.5 points

The Hurricanes are still undefeated, but the Fighting Irish could change that this weekend. Miami has had a couple of scares this season, against Florida State (43-35 2OT) and North Carolina (38-35). Notre Dame is by far the toughest opponent on Miami’s schedule. Can the Hurricanes stay perfect? Or will a top-10 opponent deliver them their first loss?

Standings after Week 9

1. Jason Frakes, Alaina Morris – 33-12
