Tabu plays a major role in KING 100, the landmark 100th film of Akkineni Nagarjuna. She appears as Mahanthi Jhansi Rani, a powerful matriarch-like figure who commands respect. Her character openly declares that she hates people who believe in luck. This conviction places her at odds with the film’s hero.
The movie marks the first reunion of Nagarjuna and Tabu in 28 years. Audiences remember them as a romantic pair. This time, the makers promise something different. It is not love. It is war. Tabu’s character, imbued with divine imagery, is a mass leader. Her presence is pivotal to how the story moves forward, it would appear from the glimpse video. She is no side figure. “An unmatched screen presence. An intensity that commands every frame,” the makers wrote.
