Nellore:A Class X student studying in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) at Kondapuram in Nellore district, who discontinued her education and moved to Hyderabad to stay with her father after her mother passed away, is set to return to school following the intervention of Education minister Nara Lokesh.
The girl recently reached out to Lokesh through X expressing her distress over being unable to continue her studies. She said after her mother passed away, her father refused to send her back to school.
Responding promptly, the minister directed Nellore district collector Himanshu Shukla to take immediate steps to ensure that the girl could return to her school. The collector directed officials to gather details about the girl and her father.
When the collector tried to contact the girl’s father, the latter did not respond to the calls. Officials then tried to reach the girl’s grandmother and the owner of a shop in Hyderabad where the girl’s father works. However, the father reportedly refused to let his daughter continue her studies in Nellore.
Undeterred, the collector deputed a special team to Hyderabad to counsel the father and facilitate the girl’s return to Nellore district. Following the special team’s intervention, the girl is expected to resume her Class X education at the Kondapuram KGBV shortly.
Himanshu Shukla has assured that the government would extend all necessary support to ensure that the girl’s education is not disrupted again. He said she would be able to continue her studies without further obstacles.
