The upcoming game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks has a bit more meaning thanks to results from Week 8. While the Cardinals pulled off a win in overtime against the Dallas Cowboys to improve to 3-5, the Seahawks dropped to 4-4 with a loss on Monday night to the Chicago Bears.
That means that depending on how this game goes, as well as the Los Angeles Rams game against Washington Commanders, there is a world where the defending Super Bowl champions are in last place in the NFC West come Tuesday morning.

And now, the Seahawks will be without their starting quarterback for the game.
Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed on Wednesday that Sam Darnold suffered a quad injury during the loss to the Bears, and will be out for Week 8. Drew Lock will now start in his place.
Lock is dealing with his own injury situation, as he was Seattle’s emergency third quarterback against Chicago last week. The backup quarterback is managing an elbow injury on his throwing arm, and was inactive for Seattle’s Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
When Darnold was injured earlier in the season, Lock stepped in and helped the Seahawks get out to a 2-0 start. He came in for an injured Darnold back in Week 1, completing 16-of-22 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown as Seattle came back to defeat the New England Patriots in a Super Bowl 60 rematch. He then started — against the Cardinals — and completed 19-of-26 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns as Seattle beat Arizona 31-7.
