The Los Angeles Lakers have been largely faultless thus far this season, and arrived at the Golden 1 Center to take on the Sacramento Kings riding a 6-2 record. Luka Doncic, the points-leader in the NBA thus far this season, was once again found on a tear, and had already scored 23 points in the first half.

As a matter of fact, Doncic produced 11 straight points in the second quarter, a run that pushed the Lakers to a 57-46 lead, per a post on X by ClutchPoints. It included multiple highlight-worthy moments, starting off with a trademark jumper over Leaky Black.
He followed it up with a three-pointer over none other than Darius Acuff Jr., who has thus far endured a difficult night. The Slovenian superstar followed it up with another three, before yet another long-ranger that moved the Lakers up by 11, after the scores were tied at 46-46.
Doncic, who has thus far gone 7-15 on shooting, was also helped by his partner-in-crime Austin Reaves, who had 13 points, two assists and two rebounds in the first half. The Kings, who got their first win of th season against Doncic’s previous team, the Dallas Mavericks just days ago, once again looked to Acuff Jr. for inspiration. The rookie had 19 points off 7-16 shooting, with the likes of De’Andre Hunter and Zach LaVine the other Sacramento stars to score in double digits thus far, with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

The Lakers made the best of the lead their star man single-handedly snatched for them, and were leading 73-65 with more than six minutes left in the third quarter. A win will push them to 7-2 for the season, tied with the Houston Rockets for the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
