Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan revisited the night the actor was stabbed at their Bandra residence in January 2025 during their appearance on the ninth season of Koffee With Karan. While the conversation initially took a lighter turn as Karan Johar brought up the conspiracy theories surrounding the incident, it soon became an emotional recollection of the frightening night.
As Karan asked the couple about the theories doing the rounds after the attack, Kareena and Saif joked about one of them suggesting that Kareena had stabbed her husband. They also quipped about whether the police officer was in cahoots with them, given that the man accused of attacking Saif had been arrested.
The exchange led the couple to revisit the events of that night, with Kareena recalling how she rushed out of their home to find an autorickshaw while Saif was bleeding.
Saif brought up Kareena’s frantic attempt to hail an autorickshaw, asking, “What about Kareena hailing a rickshaw?”
Kareena then revealed that she was still in her nightwear when she ran out onto the road. “I was in my night T-shirt. Luckily, nobody got that on video, Karan. I was screaming on that road. It was like a movie scene. I was in my shorts. I was in my night pyjamas and I did not have the time to put on my clothes. I ran on the road. Nobody knows this. I am saying it for the first time. I was in my T-shirt that was till here,” she said, gesturing towards her waist.
She added, “I was running like a mad, crazy woman trying to get a rickshaw while he was bleeding.”
Kareena also spoke about seeing Saif in the lift and the fear that gripped her. “I looked at Saif in the lift. When I saw him, I was like, ‘Saif, don’t do this’,” she said, referring to her desperate plea for him to stay alive.
Kareena then recalled how Taimur looked at his father and asked, “Abba, are you going to die? I just looked at Saif, and he gave me a look saying that, “Take me to the hospital.”
The actress became emotional while narrating the incident.
The stabbing incident took place in the early hours of January 16, 2025, when an intruder entered Saif and Kareena’s Bandra residence during an attempted burglary. A confrontation followed after Saif intervened when the intruder attacked a member of the household staff. The actor was stabbed multiple times and sustained six injuries.
Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in an autorickshaw, where he underwent emergency surgery.
