Tom Brady will return to Gillette Stadium on Sunday, but this time he won’t be wearing a Patriots uniform. The seven-time Super Bowl champion will be at the stadium as a FOX Sports broadcaster for New England‘s Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

His return also gives former teammates a chance to reconnect. However, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel did not sound particularly excited when asked about catching up with Brady.
“I think I’m required contractually to catch up with him at some point,” Vrabel joked during Wednesday’s press conference. “I’m sure it’ll be a Zoom. I’m sure they won’t show up here. I’m sure it will be on Zoom.”

Vrabel added that he expected to see Brady at Rob Gronkowski’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction on Saturday. Gronkowski, who also works for FOX Sports, will be honored at Gillette Stadium.

Vrabel and Brady spent eight seasons together in New England from 2001 to 2008, winning three Super Bowls. Their relationship has remained friendly since their playing days ended. Vrabel previously described Brady as a friend and confirmed that they exchanged texts after Super Bowl LX.
Brady has also spoken about returning to the stadium, admitting the occasion will bring back plenty of memories.
“It’ll be certainly emotional,” Brady said. He recalled the memorable games and championship moments he experienced at Gillette Stadium and praised the Patriots organization.
Sunday will mark Brady’s first appearance at the venue as a FOX Sports broadcaster. He previously returned for his Patriots Hall of Fame induction in 2024 and the unveiling of his statue in 2025.

The reunion will bring several familiar faces together again, even if Vrabel’s scheduled conversation with his former quarterback may have to happen over Zoom.
