After a week off, Rice returns to the field this week trying to halt a long skid.
The Owls (1-7, 0-4 American) visit North Texas (6-2. 4-0) on Saturday afternoon looking to end a seven-game losing streak that’s derailed their season.

That stretch includes three losses by one score. The Owls’ last game, a 51-49 loss at Florida Atlantic, saw a go-ahead field goal fall short in the final minute. In that game, Gael Ochoa got his first start at quarterback for Owls and rushed for 259 yards on 12 carries, including touchdown runs of 55, 52, 74 and 69 yards.
Rice is 5-8 all-time against North Texas, with the Mean Green winning the past four matchups since the Owls’ 2019 victory in Houston.
