The Arizona Cardinals are moving on from Jacoby Brissett, with the NFC West franchise deciding to trade the quarterback to the QB-needy Baltimore Ravens.

The deal has yet to be finalized but is expected to be completed this weekend.

Brissett arrived in Arizona in 2025 and played 14 games with 12 starts that season for the Cards. He had a saga with the Cardinals in the offseason, holding out before the two sides agreed to a reworked contract.

Then after Arizona’s stunning Week 8 win over the Dallas Cowboys on the road, the Cardinals decided it was time to part ways with Brissett, a seemingly saddening development for wide receiver Michael Wilson.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Wilson showed his appreciation for Brissett, whom he credited with helping boost his career.

“Regardless of what happens from here on out. I will forever be indebted to Jacoby Brissett,” Wilson said, via Alex D’Agostino of Diamondbacks On SI.

Cardinals WR Wilson’s Career Got a Major Spark From Brissett

Wilson (14) is tackled by New York Jets cornerback D.J. Reed (4) after a catch during the third quarter at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Nov. 10, 2024.

Wilson was a third-round pick by Arizona in 2023. Before Brissett joined the Cardinals in 2025, Wilson amassed just 1,113 passing yards and seven touchdowns over his first two NFL seasons on 85 receptions and 129 targets, with Kyler Murray as the team’s chief quarterback.

Brissett seemingly unlocked Wilson’s potential, as he finished the 2025 season with 1,006 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 78 receptions and 126 targets. That performance led Arizona to sign Wilson to a three-year, $75 million contract just before the start of the 2026 campaign.

With Brissett off to the AFC North again, Wilson and the Cards’ downfield weapons will catch passes from Gardner Minshew II, Arizona’s new starter.
