Nizamabad: Nizamabad district collector Ila Tripathi warned that strict action would be taken against those violating regulations governing sand transportation from quarries in the district.
Chairing a district-level sand coordination committee meeting at the Integrated District Offices Complex (IDOC) on Friday, she directed officials of the revenue, mining and engineering departments to conduct regular inspections of sand reaches and enforce government guidelines.
She said sand allocations must be made exclusively through the online booking system under the ‘Mana Isuka Vahanam’ initiative. Officials concerned would be held responsible for any irregularities in sand transportation, she said, calling for coordination among departments to prevent illegal activities.
The collector also directed officials to ensure uninterrupted sand transportation from designated reaches for the construction of Young India Integrated Residential Schools and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya buildings, as the required stocks had already been sanctioned.
