The OKC Thunder turned a cold shooting night for Washington into another win.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished with 30 points and nine assists as the Thunder defeated the Wizards 114-75 on Saturday at Paycom Center. Jared McCain added 19 points and five rebounds, while Aday Mara contributed 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

OKC held Washington to 29% shooting in the first half and won despite missing forward Jaylin Williams, who sat out his third consecutive game with lower back spasms.
The Thunder (8-2) visit the Portland Trail Blazers at 10 p.m. CT Tuesday.
Here are three takeaways from Saturday’s win:

Jared McCain, Aday Mara give Thunder a boost
So much for that shooting slump.
McCain followed Friday’s 21-point performance against Memphis with another efficient outing, scoring 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting and grabbing five rebounds.

After struggling in the three games before Friday, McCain has scored 40 points over his past two outings.
Mara gave OKC another productive performance, too.
He finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, continuing his strong start to the season. He even stretched his range to open the fourth quarter, knocking down a 3-pointer.
With McCain finding his rhythm and Mara contributing at both ends, Gilgeous-Alexander had plenty of help.
Thunder defense makes Wizards work in first half
Washington spent much of the first half searching for breathing room.
The Thunder disrupted passing lanes and contested shots, holding the Wizards to 29% shooting before halftime. Wizards star Trae Young managed just four points on 1-of-6 shooting with a turnover in the opening half.

Washington’s AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, recovered from a rough start to finish with a team-high 19 points, six rebounds and three assists.
But the Wizards couldn’t turn that production into a road victory.
Allen Iverson draws ovation from Thunder crowd
One of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s biggest basketball influences had a courtside seat Saturday.
Hall of Fame guard Allen Iverson arrived in the third quarter alongside Gilgeous-Alexander’s father, Vaughn Alexander, and received a loud ovation when he appeared on the video board.
Gilgeous-Alexander has often named Iverson as his favorite player growing up and a major influence on his game.
