Thiruvananthapuram: Delayed repairs at Cantonment House, the official residence of LoP Pinarayi Vijayan, have prompted him to move to another rented house at Edapazhanji here, sources said on Sunday.
Vijayan is currently staying in a rented house at Bakery Junction.
Officials said he decided to move to a more suitable accommodation, following which a house on Ezhavara Vilasam Road at Edapazhanji was taken on rent. He is expected to shift there within a week, after some minor works are completed, they said.
A fire broke out at Cantonment House last month, damaging a portion of the building. Vijayan has since raised concerns several times over the delay in completing the repairs.
PWD Minister P K Basheer and Vijayan recently visited the residence to review the progress of the work.
