90 Day Fiancé star Shekinah Garner is in the spotlight for all things personal. She filed for divorce from her husband, Sarper Guven, in September 2026. Shekinah cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce. Now, reports claim that Shekinah is asking for spousal support in their bitter divorce battle.
Why is Shekinah Garner asking for spousal support from her estranged husband, Sarper Guven?
According to TMZ, Shekinah Garner is asking a judge to order her estranged husband, Sarper Guven, to pay up in their divorce. In addition to spousal support, she also wants Sarper to pay her attorney’s fees. Court documents obtained by the publication reveal that Shekinah claims she put her esthetician business on the back burner, all so that she could support Sarper’s comedy career.
Shekinah further said that she traveled to Turkey every two months for around three weeks at a time over 2 years. This is because Sarper’s US visa hadn’t been approved yet. The frequent trips reportedly cost her a lot of money. Additionally, the 90 Day Fiancé star revealed that she would have to close her facial studio whenever she was away supporting her husband. In the end, her business took a major hit because of it.
Compared to how things were for her, Shekinah alleged that Sarper’s career took off. To prove this, she gave the example of their joint federal tax return, which shows his comedy business grossed over USD 280K. This included a USD 180K net profit. Shekinah also claimed that her business reported a net loss of USD 51K.
She is now asking for USD 6,189 per month in spousal support. The reality star also wants Sarper Guven to cover her attorney’s fees and costs amounting to USD 35K.
Shekinah Garner’s divorce filing came after Sarper Guven had already chosen ‘single life’
Shekinah Garner claimed that the decision to end her marriage with Sarper Guven brought her heartbreak. But she ultimately decided that she needed to move forward. In a scathing post on Instagram, she decided to tell her side of the story in their split. Pointing at Sarpar’s alleged involvement in 90 Day: The Single Life Season 6, Shekinah shared:
“I’m fully aware that he has chosen the single life, and even writing those words hurts because it takes me back to the beginning of our journey, when we chose to share our love story publicly. We made a promise then that no matter what happened between us, we would never go on the show The Single Life. That’s a promise I intend to keep with all of the others I made.”
She made it clear that she had been faithful to Sarper, faithful to him throughout their marriage, “not because I feel like he deserves that loyalty, and not because every promise he made to me was kept in return, but because I made that promise… I didn’t abandon my own integrity because someone else abandoned theirs.”
Shekinah also spoke out on Sarper’s comedy shows, which have been a major talking point in their split. She said that she can be honest enough to admit that the untrusting part of her wanted to limit the chances of her estranged husband cheating on her. But that wasn’t why she would go to the shows every night.
Shekinah claimed that it was Sarper himself who wanted her to be there. He also insisted that she sit in the audience where he could always see her. This was the case even if they had a fight and she was crying five minutes before he walked on stage. She wrote:
“I was expected to sit where he could see me and laugh along at jokes about me and our marriage because he needed me to laugh at them so others felt like it was okay to laugh, too.”
