Ben Stiller is gearing up for the premiere of his new comedy movie, Focker-in-Law, which will drop on November 25, 2026. Ahead of that, he and his co-stars, Ariana Grande and Robert De Niro, are busy promoting the upcoming project. On November 8, 2026 (ET), the three actors will feature on a special Sunday-night telecast of NBC’s Tonight Show and have a candid chat with host Jimmy Fallon.
Amid the buzz, the actors’ personal lives have come into the spotlight. Ben Stiller, who has been married to his wife, Christine Taylor for almost three decades, didn’t begin on a normal note. She initially thought it was just a rebound romance. From that to a long-term relationship, Ben and Christine have come a long way.
Christine Taylor initially dismissed romance with Ben Stiller, thinking it was a rebound relationship
Christine Taylor and Ben Stiller’s relationship began as a whirlwind romance and grew into a long-term bond built on love, trust, and commitment. The actors first met in 1999 while working on an unaired TV pilot called Heat Vision and Jack. They felt an instant mutual attraction that quickly blossomed into romance because they were both going through emotionally low phases at the time.
Christine had just come out of a relationship, and Ben had ended things with someone too. In that emotionally vulnerable phase, they met and found themselves drawn towards each other. At first, the duo thought they were simply each other’s rebound, but they soon realized they shared something special. She recalled the anecdote in her recent appearance on We’re Still Here, Babes podcast and stated:
“That became the beginning of an entirely new chapter of my life, because Ben and I hit it off on the set. We went on a date towards the end of the shoot, and then just kind of went on this whirlwind romance. We both thought [it] was our sort of rebound romance, cause I had just broken up with someone, and he was just getting out of something.”

Christine and Ben enjoyed spending time together and kept their relationship low-key to avoid outside pressure while they figured out their feelings for each other. Although they were taking things slow, she felt their casual dating could turn into something more.
Thus, Christine Taylor told her family and closest pals about seeing Ben Stiller, but kept it a secret from other acquaintances until she was sure about him. In her words:
“We just were having fun, and just having a great time together. We kinda kept it on the down-low; it wasn’t like I was telling – I told my closest friends and family, but not my peripheral group of friends for a while.”
Christine’s prediction came true, and the duo decided to take things more seriously. According to her, they took ‘a big leap,’ and within six months, he proposed marriage to her. She readily agreed, and they tied the knot in May 2000. About two years later, Christine and Ben became parents to their first child, daughter Ella Olivia Stiller. Since then, the couple has appeared in several joint projects like Zoolander and Dodgeball. She mentioned:
“We took a big leap. And then yeah, then we got married in May of 2000, and then I had our daughter the next year, and then we worked together a bunch. We did Zoolander together; we did Dodgeball together.”

Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor once separated but didn’t get divorced
Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor share one of Hollywood’s most enduring relationships; however, things haven’t always been amicable between them. They had a highly publicized separation in 2017; however, they avoided a permanent divorce and fully reconciled during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of November 2026, Ben and Christine are happily married with two children- daughter Ella Olivia Stiller (born April 9, 2002) and son Quinlin Dempsey Stiller (born July 10, 2005), both of whom are involved in acting.
