Levi was known to a wider audience for his appearance on X Factor Celebrity in 2019, where he performed as part of the group Try Star alongside rugby players Thom Evans and Ben Foden. He also appeared on Celebs Go Dating.
But since he went missing four years ago, nobody has been able to find out the truth. Here’s all we know….
Where was he last seen?
The last sighting of him was at a pub in Barcelona. Levi was spotted on CCTV leaving The Old Irish Pub on La Rambla, at around 10pm on October 29, 2022. Bar staff said he had only had one or two drinks. Levi had run out of money and was asking friends and family for £30 to get a hotel.
He is said to have caught a boat with only a small backpack The last known contact from him was after midnight, when he sent a WhatsApp to a friend.
He was reported as a missing person a week later by his family.
‘Sextortion’ plot fear
Levi, who had been open about his bisexuality, had been the victim of a “sextortion” plot long before his disappearance.
His mother fears the two things may be connected. According to Julie, Levi was raped and the attack was filmed, which led to him posting a video saying his life was in danger.
Sextortion is a form of online blackmail where someone threatens to distribute private, sexual, or intimate images, videos, or information about a victim unless they pay money or provide additional sexual content or favours.
Investigation’s closure
In 2024, Spanish police told the BBC their investigation into the star’s disappearance had “concluded” and that their “most plausible hypothesis” was that he had drowned at sea.
His family had previously called for UK police to take charge of the investigation, and have pledged to press on in their pursuit for answers. They have since pushed further review.
The morning after Levi disappeared, passengers on a cruise ship close to Barcelona’s port reported seeing a man in the water.
Trip following career blow
Levi had gone travelling after a serious knee injury left him unable to play rugby.
He had considered quitting the game for his other love, music.
Mum Julie says: “Levi wanted to travel Europe because of his anterior cruciate ligament tear. He’d been in Ibiza for a couple of weeks to work on music, and he said he planned to stay at a hotel in Barcelona overnight before going to his next destination, which was left open. But he had run out of funding.”
Fresh appeal
Despite no trace of him being found, his mother Julie has refused to abandon hope of seeing her son alive once more.
She featured in a video on Missing People’s YouTube channel to speak about her son who “had the ability to light up a room when he walked in”.
Missing People charity, who are supporting Levi’s family, said through a spokesperson: “Levi, if you are reading this, please get in touch.”
