Khammam: ACB officials on Saturday conducted a surprise check at the road transport office (RTO) in Khammam and took 13 agents into custody based on information that they were operating illegally on the premises and facilitating corrupt practices.
ACB DSP Y. Ramesh informed media persons that 13 agents were detained and ₹78,120 in cash was recovered from their possession. Investigators also found 837 original vehicle registration certificates (RCs) and driving licences in their custody. Attendance registers, cash registers, and other official records were not maintained properly.
The presence of unauthorised agents handling official documents pointed to serious procedural violations and possible corruption.
