Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas broke down in floods of tears as he opened up about his belief that he is ‘not a great dad’ and his ‘guilt’ about his ‘perfect life’

Adam Thomas tearfully shared that he thinks he’s “not a great dad” as he admitted to feeling “guilty” about his life. The Waterloo Road actor broke down in tears as he discussed his low self-belief on his podcast.

The father of two opened up on a recent episode of his podcast At Home With The Thomas Bros, which he shares with his brothers Scott and Ryan. He shared that he feels “guilty” because of how “perfect” his life is.

“There’s days where I walk down the stairs in this house and I think, ‘f***ing hell, I’m so grateful, I’m so lucky’, and I feel guilty because of it. I’m like, why do I deserve this? Why do I deserve a beautiful wife? Why do I deserve this perfect family?”

Adam has been married to his wife Caroline Daly since 2017, and the two share a son, 11-year-old Teddy, and a daughter, seven year old Elsie. The star, who will be on I’m A Celeb All Stars soon, added that he is still “chasing” self-confidence.

“I suppose that’s the one thing I’m chasing – the self-belief and the confidence”. He continued to say that despite his “perfect life” he feels he is “no good at this”.

He said: “I just doubt myself so much. And just the over procrastinating, like, I’m no good at this, I’m no good at that, I’m not a good friend, I’m not a good husband, sometimes I’m not a great dad.

“And, you know, not necessarily wanting to further my career. I’m everyone else’s best friend and I will always big everyone up and tell them how great they are and I just don’t do that for myself.”

A snippet of the podcast episode was shared to their official TikTok page and fans flooded the comments with support for the actor. One wrote: “And this is why I have so much respect and love for this man.”

Another said: “Seeing Adam cry is awful. He deserves everything he has!” A third added: “Adam you deserve the world! You have worked hard for everything you have!”

When the second series of I’m A Celebrity All Stars returns, fans will be able to watch Adam take on the South African jungle and a series of trials and challenges. The actor was last on I’m A Celeb in 2016 and earned the name Mr Bushtucker Trial for taking on the most challenges.

He will face off against several other stars including two former champs. Both Harry Redknapp and Scarlett Moffatt will be back on the show, having won their past series. Soap legend Beverley Callard will also return, as will Gemma Collins, Jimmy Bullard, Seann Walsh, David Haye, Sir Mo Farah, Ashley Roberts, Sinitta and Craig Charles.
