Aditya Dhar’s directorial Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the domestic box office, the makers said on Saturday, also making it one of Ranveer Singh’s highest grossers. Released on December 5, 2025, the film continues its impressive run at the box office as it enters its third Friday.

Despite films like Avatar: Fire and Ash releasing, the impact is not much on the footfalls as the film continues to run successfully across India. Speculations are that the phenomenal box office performance of Dhurandhar has prompted Maddock Films to postpone Agastya Nanda’s upcoming film Ikkis, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, to January 1, 2026. Karan Johar, however, has stuck to December 25 as the release date for his Kartik Aaryan-Ananya Panday starrer Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri as a festive release, while acknowledging the success of Dhurandhar-1.

The film, said to be inspired by real-life events, features an impressive star cast like Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, R Madhavan and Sara Arjun. It is all about India’s intelligence operations in Pakistan, where Ranveer Singh, who plays an Indian spy, goes undercover to infiltrate terror networks and gather intelligence. Dhurandhar is a two-part franchise, with the second instalment scheduled for an Eid 2026 release on the 19th of March, 2026.
