Minimum temperatures have dropped below 10°C in 12 districts of Rajasthan, 10 in Madhya Pradesh, 1 in Chhattisgarh, 1 in Haryana, and 8 in Himachal Pradesh. Cities like Bhopal, Rajgarh, and Indore in Madhya Pradesh, along with hill stations like Gulmarg and Srinagar, have joined the list of the top 12 coldest cities in the country.

Meanwhile, the effects of the cold are being felt in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, amid the retreating monsoon rains in the south. In the hill station of Ooty, dew drops have frozen on car windscreens, vehicles, and trees.

Several Rajasthan districts record season’s coldest night

Due to icy winds blowing from North India, temperatures in Alwar, Udaipur, and Jhunjhunu have also dropped to single digits. These cities experienced their coldest night of the season on Saturday, November 8. Baran and Karauli also recorded temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius for the first time. Temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius were recorded in 12 districts. Sikar recorded the lowest temperature of 7 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.

Madhya Pradesh weather

The Pendra and Amarkantak regions are experiencing severe cold. For the first time this season, the minimum temperature in Pendra has dropped below 10°C, reaching 9°C. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature across the state may drop by 1 to 3°C in the next two days. A cold wave warning has been issued for a few locations in northern Chhattisgarh.
