In a recent conversation with Esquire India, Ahaan revealed that he underwent a major shoulder surgery soon after the film’s release. The procedure was linked to an old injury he had suffered in a snowmobile accident years ago. Speaking about the experience, he shared, “I actually got a whole surgery done after the release of Saiyaara last year. And it’s one of the most painful surgeries you can do, with the longest recovery time.”
Doctors had warned him that the surgery would completely reset his physical progress and he would have to rebuild his strength from the beginning. Instead of feeling discouraged, Ahaan turned the challenge into motivation. Reflecting on the process, he said, “I used to feel motivated by actors who had dramatic gym transformations. But that was usually from a certain unhealthy body type to a healthy one. This was different; I went from being injured, to not being able to move, to not being able to lift, to being able to lift.”

The recovery journey was long and demanding, with months spent in a cast and limited movement before he slowly regained strength. Surprisingly, the actor managed to keep the entire situation under wraps. “I don’t know how nobody realised!” he said, adding that a few fans eventually noticed his weight loss and even asked his mother about it.
Now fully recovered, Ahaan is preparing for his next film, an untitled action romance directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Yash Raj Films, where he will share the screen with Sharvari Wagh.
