Shocking video footage captured the moment a speeding SUV veered off a Brazilian road and went airborne then torpedoed down a flight of steep stairs — with the driver walking away with just a scratch.
“God is marvelous!” driver Railson Souza, 48, who was on his way home from work when he fainted, said after the wild 5:30 a.m. crash in Sao Paulo, the US Sun reported. “I’m sure, but I didn’t break anything. I’ve got a little scratch on one hand only, and nothing else.”
Souza said he wasn’t feeling well after forgetting to take his blood pressure medication and blacked out behind the wheel, the outlet reported.
“I had a bad headache,” he said. “All I remember about the accident is being down at the bottom of the steps and hearing, ‘Railson! Calm down!’ I don’t know how I ended up where I did.
“Tears fall from my eyes when I watch the video,” he added. “It was God that protected me at that moment so that I could be here today.”
Video footage of the wild crash shows the car driving down a narrow street when it suddenly fails to negotiate a turn, jumps the sidewalk and goes careening down several flights of stairs.
The vehicle is ripped apart by the railing, flips over and lands in a heap of mangled metal.
Railson was trapped inside the wreckage but was pulled out by first-responders and rushed to the hospital where X-rays revealed that he didn’t have a single broken bone.
