Akhanda 2, the much-anticipated fantasy action drama starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, was scheduled to release on December 5, 2025. On December 5, 2025, the production house, 14 Reels Plus, issued a public apology for not being able to release the highly anticipated film, Akhanda 2, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. The production house shared that they tried their best to bring the fantasy action drama to the big screens, but unfortunately, due to some unexpected things, they failed in the process. They expressed gratitude to veteran actor, Nandamuri Balakrishna and director, Boyapati Sreenu for standing by their side during this difficult phase. They concluded the note by sharing an update about the film’s release. The note can be read as:

“We’ve tried our absolute best to bring #Akhanda2 to the big screens, but despite our tireless efforts, sometimes, the most unexpected things happen, and unfortunately, this is that time. We sincerely apologise to all the fans and cinema lovers across the world who have been eagerly waiting for the film with so much anticipation. We are forever grateful to our dearest ‘God of Masses’ #NandamuriBalakrishna Garu and #BoyapatiSreenu Garu for standing by us during this challenging moment. Akhanda-2 will hit the bullseye whenever it arrives…Coming very soon with a new date.”

What to expect in the fantasy action drama, Akhanda 2?

Akhanda 2 will kick off from where things ended in the 2021 film. The story will explore the theme of righteousness and will feature the ongoing battle between good and evil. Veteran actor, Nandamuri Balakrishna made a comeback with his iconic role and will once again tackle everything happening in the darker world, where corruption plays the key role. The sequel to Akhanda will also feature the deeper roots of mythology.

This time, the fans will experience an expansion of the Akhanda universe. There will be a presence of both action and spirituality. In a 2024 interview with Gulte, the director of the Akhanda franchise, Boyapati Sreenu, shared that the upcoming film, Akhanda 2, will have a similar tone just like the previous part. He revealed that the story of Akhanda 2 will focus on kids, nature and God.
