Alison Hammond has shown off the results of her incredible weight loss while working up a sweat in a boxing class. The This Morning star, 51, has undergone an impressive transformation over the last five years in which she made huge changes to her diet and fitness regime, resulting in a whopping 11 stone weight loss.

The bubbly Brummie often posts snaps of herself working out on Instagram and has now shared photos of herself perfecting her pad work as she took part in private boxing session. Sporting a black t.shirt and sweatpants, the Big Brother star threw herself into the class with her trainer as she enthusiastically punched the pads with her pal. She captioned the post: “Yass @themccannic! Same time next week,” alongside a flame and boxing glove emoji.

As well as boxing, Alison is also an advocate of circuit training and Reformer Pilates, which counts Meghan Markle and Gwyneth Paltrow as fans. Vowing to never touch weight-loss jabs, the presenter said she signed up for the classes, which use a specialised machine called a reformer to strengthen muscles, because she is “stiff as a board”.

Talking to Closer magazine, she said: “You feel absolutely incredible after it. I really need a good stretch – so Reformer Pilates has been brilliant for me.

“I also do this early-morning circuit class from the brilliant Steve Hensel at Blue Zone. I’ll go at 6.30am and do a full hour, it’s a proper old-school gym.”

However, while insisting she leaves the gym feeling ‘amazing’ after a workout, Alison said there is one health boost, she definitely won’t be trying.

She continued: “I did try one of those cold plunge pools once – and absolutely not! It lasted about a minute. I was like: ‘Why am I literally trying to kill myself?”‘

Alison has lost 11 stone over the past five years, prompted by the discovery that she was pre-diabetic – a situation she has fortunately reversed with healthier food choices and exercise.

However, it’s not always easy for the star, who is now a host on The Great British Bake Off. Talking to the Daily Mail about how she avoids temptation, she said: “I eat a bit of Paul and Prue’s after they’ve finished judging. I only try the ones that got a handshake from Paul or ones that won. If the judges aren’t impressed, I’m not trying it.”

The mum-of-one, who weighed 28 stone at her heaviest, also has a personal trainer. Talking to Heat magazine, she said: “I’ve got a personal trainer – she’s amazing, she trains me when I can train. If I’m working, I don’t train, I’ll go for a walk. But when I’m at home, I’ll go and have a session with her in the morning, just an hour. It might be four days a week.”

Alison also revealed she still has a treat every now and then, explaining: “I don’t deny myself anything, I eat everything, but in moderation.”
