The video began with Amanda standing outside the pub in a puffy jacket with a glass of bubbles in hand, before she sneaked in. She said to the camera: “I am outside the pub where my lovely choir are currently having a pint. They’re watching the telly, they’ve got together for the golden buzzer. I’m gonna go and surprise them…”

The radio host then bursts into the pub to surprise everyone, leading to cheers and celebrations from around the venue. Amanda then sits with the crowd to watch the exciting moment unfold on a large television. She wrote in the caption: “About last night…. I decided to surprise @thehawkstonefarmerschoir in my favourite local @thefoxatoddington – they had got together to watch their golden buzzer moment on @bgt @ itv!”

She added: “Any excuse for a pint? (of champagne) what a gorgeous evening -so lovely to catch up with them all! Can’t wait for the semifinals.”

The group of farmers range in ages from 27 to 74 and performed a rendition of One Day Like This by Elbow on the Britain’s Got Talent stage.

Speaking to her Golden Buzzer act, Amanda said: “As soon as you, God, it’s so silly. As soon as you started, I completely welled up. I felt so much power. I love the whole community. I love how you’ve all got together and work your a***s off. You work so hard every single day. You absolutely smashed it and I can’t wait to see what you do in the semi-finals. Congratulations.”

Guest judge Stacey Solomon added: “I don’t think anyone will understand the power of a choir unless they’ve been in a choir. It’s such an incredible space to release and just letting it go. I’m so grateful that I got to experience that in real life, so thank you and congrats.” “Music is so powerful, it’s like therapy, and you could really feel that, it sounded beautiful,” said Alesha.
