Amanjot Kaur Reveals Harmanpreet’s Message To Team Before World Cup Win, ‘It Had Been More…’

The entire nation is still celebrating the historic win of the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup Final, where Team India defeated South Africa by 52 runs and picked up the trophy for the first time. While the entire team is celebrating, a few names, who have been grabbing the maximum attention for their performances are Harmanpreet Kaur, Amanjot Kaur and Smriti Mandhana. Amid that, Amanjot revealed Harmanpreet’s message before the match. 

Harmanpreet Kaur sent a personal message to her teammates before the match

Recently, star player, Amanjot Kaur, who has been making headlines for her iconic catch in the World Cup final, opened up about Harmanpreet Kaur’s message hours before the final match. For the unversed, Harmanpreet Kaur is the captain of women’s Team India. Amanjot shared that after the heartbreak of 2017, Harmanpreet was not ready to lose again, so she called each player personally and motivated them to give their best. Amanjot was quoted as saying:

“It had been more difficult for her because the highs and lows that she has seen are something that we haven’t. To lose by small margins isn’t good and she had said this time around that she doesn’t want to lose out by a small margin; everyone will have to go all out.”

Amanjot continued to reveal that during the match, the entire team was so focused on winning that they did not even keep a track of the score. All they were calculating was the wickets. Amanjot shared:

“We were just counting the wickets and not keeping an eye on what the score was.”

For those who missed the match, one of the major highlights of the World Cup final was a catch that Amanjot Kaur took. A lot of fans compared it with Suryakumar Yadav’s T20 World Cup Final catch. For the unversed, Wolvaard was on strike and she lifted one high towards deep midwicket. But Amanjot took the catch after juggling it thrice. Talking the same, Amanjot Kaur shared:

“My god, it was the toughest catch of my life. I have never fumbled before, either I have taken them or spilt them. There has been nothing in between, but for the first time God gave me three chances.”

After the recent ICC Women’s World Cup Final, Amanjot garnered a lot of love and attention from both fans and her teammates. Recently, while giving the best fielder’s medal Jemimah Rodrigues had shared that Amanjot didn’t catch that catch, she even caught the World Cup.
