King Charles has been spending the weekend at Sandringham – and was pictured attending church this morning, just a few miles from Andrew Mounbatten-Windsor’s temporary Wood Farm home

The King has reportedly snubbed his scandal-hit brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor – despite them both being at Sandringham this weekend. Charles, 77, headed to his Norfolk estate on Friday and has been spending the weekend there.

This morning, he was pictured walking to St Mary Magdalene Church at Sandringham for a traditional Sunday morning service. Wearing a camel coloured overcoat and holding a large umbrella, the King was seen shaking hands with a member of the clergy as he walked the short distance from Sandringham House. Yesterday, the King was seen driving around his estate and at one point was less than two miles away from the former Duke of York’s current home of Wood Farm.

According to The Sun, it is understood they did not see each – and have no plans to. A witness told the publication: “The King left Sandringham and was driving towards Wood Farm, which is only two miles away and only about five minutes by car.” It is not known when the last time the King saw his younger brother.

Mountbatten-Windsor has been holed up at the isolated Wood Farm cottage since he was arrested last month on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He is currently living at the cottage as a temporary measure before it is understood that he will move to Marsh Farm.

It comes after he was booted out of Royal Lodge earlier this year after the King stripped him of all his titles following the release of the Epstein files.

Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest came after claims he shared sensitive information with the paedophile while serving as the UK’s trade envoy. Hours after his arrest, the King put out a statement saying “the law must take its course” after expressing his “deepest concern”. He said: “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office.

“What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.”

There have been no sightings of Mountbatten since he arrived back at Wood Farm, where his late father Prince Philip, lived out his final days, after slouching down in the back of a car, leaving Aylsham police station in Norfolk.

It has been suggested that while at Wood Farm, Andrew has been told he is not allowed to go out riding, something he did often while living at the much grander Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate, as it’s considered a “bad look” in the wake of the police probe into him.

According to the i newspaper, it is claimed further rules have been imposed upon Mountbatten-Windsor – and that he cannot leave the Sandringham estate without permission and a chaperone. It is further claimed that any visitors to his home must also be approved in advance.
