Talking about the title of the film, the director said, “The title is always a big deal for me. Most often I can not write or ideate before I have the title. Now a title must convey the core idea. What is the film about? Like Article 15 was about the fifteenth Article. Thappad was about Thappad. You need to dig to the very basic core of the story. In this case, ASSI felt like hitting the nail on the head with a loud thud which was necessary.”
Further sharing what encouraged him to make a film like ASSI, Sinha added, “When you work on a story like this, it is necessary to get to the genesis of the act.
