Veteran actor and comedian, Govardhan Asrani passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 84. The actor has been suffering from breathing issues, as reported, and was admitted to the hospital. However, it was on October 20, 2025, when he bid farewell to the world, leaving his family and fans heartbroken. It was his manager who confirmed his death, and he also shared some details about the final moments of the actor. Asrani’s contribution to the cinematic world will remain unbeatable. Over a career of five decades, Asrani appeared in more than 350 films, and his sudden demise sparked a sense of grief around.

Govardhan Asrani’s manager recalls his last days while revealing the reason he was admitted to the hospital

During a media interaction, Govardhan Asrani’s manager, Mr. Thiba revealed that the actor had not been keeping well for the last 15 days, and it was 4 days ago, when he was admitted to the Arogya hospital, due to breathing issues. As per Mr Thiba, Asrani passed away around 3 p.m. on October 20, 2025, and his funeral took place on the same day around 8 p.m. Sharing the condition of Govardhan’s family members, Mr Thiba revealed:

“He was not feeling well and was admitted to Arogya Hospital four days ago due to breathing issues, He passed away at around 3 PM today. His last rites were performed at 8 PM today. The family is back home now… very sad.”

Govardhan Asrani’s wife honoured his last wish silently

A report by News 18 revealed that Govardhan Asrani’s wife paid a silent tribute to her late husband by fulfilling his last wish. As per the report, sources shared that Govardhan wanted a quiet and dignified departure from his world. If the report is to be believed, Govardhan, even though he was a famous man, wanted to be remembered as a common man.

Reportedly, he instructed his wife, Manju, to avoid any kind of public attention or media interaction following his death. As it seems, his last wish was fulfilled by his wife and other family members, as his death news was shared only after his funeral, following the private cremation. Asrani’s death news was shared through a family statement, which was filled with grief over the actor’s passing. The statement reads:

“Our beloved, the one who brought smiles to everyone’s faces, Asrani ji is no longer among us. His passing is an irreparable loss for both Hindi cinema and our hearts. The indelible mark he left through his performances will remain eternal. May God grant peace to his soul. Om Shanti.”

Asrani and Manju’s relationship spanned decades, and while the exact date of their wedding wasn’t known, several sources claimed that they got married in the mid-1970s. Their relationship was marked by mutual love, interest, and shared interests. They met each other while shooting for Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar.

Reportedly, the actor was drawn to Manju’s simplicity and hard work, and their friendship eventually bloomed into a beautiful love story. The duo worked together in several films such as Tapasya, Chandi Sona, Jaan-E-Bahaar, Jurmana, Nalayak, and Sarkari Mehmaan, among others. They reportedly didn’t have any children; however, the duo had been together with each other through all the ups and downs in their lives.
