Making his return to T20Is after last featuring in December 2024, Babar failed to deliver as he fell to Corbin Bosch. In the sixth over of Pakistan’s innings, he mistimed a shot off a quick length delivery, offering a simple catch to Reeza Hendricks at cover. His innings lasted just two balls, and fans on social media were quick to troll the star batter for his disappointing performance.

Babar’s wicket stunned the crowd at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, while social media buzzed with reactions as fans expressed their disappointment.

Earlier in the match, Babar also dropped a straightforward catch at long-on, which turned out to be costly for Pakistan. The moment came in the 17th over of South Africa’s innings when George Linde hit a delivery from Shaheen Afridi straight towards him. Although Babar was well positioned, the ball slipped through his hands after bouncing off them.

Linde went on to play a quickfire knock of 36 runs off 22 balls, helping South Africa reach a total of 194/9 in their 20 overs.
