Where is BAFTA Award night held?
The 79th BAFTA Awards will be held on February 22, 2026, at London’s iconic Royal Festival Hall. Reportedly, it is organised annually by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and it aims to honour the best artists and best project of global cinema. This year, the award night will be hosted by Alan Cumming. It is worth noting that Alan will be taking over the hosting duties of this event for the very first time.

The 79th British Academy Film Awards will premiere live from London’s Royal Festival Hall. For the unversed, the award night is scheduled to happen on February 22, 2026. Viewers in the United Kingdom will be able to watch the award night on BBC One. On the other hand, viewers in India will be able to stream the award night live at 12:30 a.m. IST on February 23, 2026. Indian fans can stream BAFTA awards on the OTT platform, SonyLIV. It is also worth mentioning that the official YouTube channel of BAFTA awards will stream the event live for free.

Apart from the Raazi actress, Alicia Vikander, Bryan Cranston, Cillian Murphy, Glenn Close, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Hudson, Riz Ahmed, Stormzy, Warwick Davis and more will also be presenting.
Nominations of BAFTA Awards
The nominations of the 79th British Academy Film Awards were officially announced on January 27, 2026. For those who missed it, the action thriller film, One Battle After Another has been leading the race with 14 nominations in categories like Best Film, Best Director, Leading Actress, Leading Actor and more. Next, there is Sinners with 13 nominations. Much-loved films, Hamnet and Marty Supreme earned 11 nominations each.

Apart from them, Frankenstein and Sentimental Value received 8 nominations each. However, it is worth mentioning that I Swear has been grabbing a lot of attention, despite earning only 5 nominations. Along with films, some of the artists and directors nominated for the event are Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothee Chalamet, Jessie Buckley, Emma Stone, Paul Thomas Anderson, Ryan Coogler and more.
