Celebrities have started arriving at London’s Royal Festival Hall ahead of the BAFTAs. This year, politically charged thriller One Battle After Another and blues-steeped epic Sinners are leading the race at the ceremony, hosted by Scottish actor Alan Cumming. The BAFTAs take place earlier than their scheduled broadcast time, meaning celebrities start arriving in the afternoon.

Among those spotted on the red carpet today was Paddington, one of the most anticipated guests, as the puppet bear who stars in a musical stage adaptation of the beloved children’s classic. “I was honestly star-struck by Paddington,” Cumming said.

The BAFTAs often provide hints about who will win at Hollywood’s Academy Awards, held this year on March 15. In the Oscar nominations, Sinners leads the race with a record 16 nominations, followed by One Battle After Another with 13.
