Ben Affleck had the Super Bowl crowd in stitches on Sunday when he appeared in a commercial for Dunkin’ Donuts with a whole host of famous faces
Ben Affleck made a surprise appearance at the Super Bowl last night when he popped up on screen with a slew of 90s sitcom stars.
The Batman legend, 53, brought the house down in the US when he appeared in a commercial during a break for the game between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, alongside 90s legends, including Friends stars, Jennifer Anniston, Matt LeBlanc and Fresh Prince icon, Alfonso Ribeiro.
The group came together in a nod to Ben’s Oscar-winning film, Good Film Hunting, as they recreated the college-based flick for coffee chain, Dunkin’ Donuts. An opening message for the 60-second spot commercial, which was watched by millions around the world, announced: “Before the movie, a much better version of Good Will Hunting was made as a sitcom with a real genius in the lead and some other actors.”

The grainy VHS-style advert had a date reading February 8, 1995 and showed Ben rocking a blonde wig in a nod to best pal Matt Damon’s character in the iconic film, which also starred the late Robin Williams.
A studio audience erupted into laughter as Matt, reviving his Friends character Joey, says: “If he’s such a genius, then why’d he put ice in his coffee?”
Clad in an anorak, Matt mirrors Ben’s Good Will Hunting character Chuckie, as Ben quips: “C’mon Chuckie, I’m just Will Hunting. I’m not a genius.” He then repeats Joey’s iconic Friends catchphrase, “How you doin’?” to which Matt approves: “Good move”.
In another Friends reference, Ben says: “We’re on a break! I don’t need her, I’ve got everything I need right here at Dunkin as Rachel Green star, Jen, looks forlorn.
Ted Danson of Cheers fame then comes into shot as he calls out: “Hey, kid,” from behind the shop’s counter. If you’re still single, doing this Boston shtick and working for Dunkin when you’re 50, I’m going to be very disappointed.”
Jen, dressed as her Friends character then asks Ben: “You like doughnuts?” “Yeah”, Ben mumbles before Jen pulls NFL star Tom Brady into view and hits his head on the glass while quoting Good Will Hunting as she asks: “How do you like them apples? Well, this is my new boyfriend. How you like these nuts?” she adds, to cheers from the audience.
Last year, Ben’s pal Matt Damon appeared in a commercial for the Super Bowl when he starred alongside David Beckham. The pair pretended to be long, lost brothers in an advert for Stella Artois beer.
The advert was branded the game’s “best” of 2025, with Becks telling the press the pair had a “real laugh” while making it.
