A big star from the nineties has revealed their latest tour dates as the Britpop revival continues to grip the nation following Oasis’ successful summer this year
Hot on the heels of the electric Oasis UK tour dates, another Britpop legend is preparing for a tour of his own. Fans were left in awe of the spectacle put on by the Gallagher brothers on the big stage, and fans of the era will be chomping at the bit for the latest announcement.
After a spectacular world premiere that closed this summer’s Big Feastival in front of over 20,000 fans, Blur star Alex James is ready to send his Britpop Classical on the road for its first ever UK tour in March next year. In it, he will bring hits of the Britpop era to life alongside a live orchestra.
It will tour the UK, taking in the Royal Albert Hall before heading to the likes of Manchester, Brighton, Newcastle and Glasgow. Created and performed by Blur bassist and Big Feastival founder Alex James, the show takes the best songs from a golden age of British music.

Classic tunes from Blur, Oasis and Pulp to Supergrass and The Verve will get special renditions with the help of a live band, and guest vocalists as well as the London Concert Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
James will be joined by the likes of Phil Daniels, Saffron of Republica, and Gary Stringer of Reef. Further names are to also be announced.
Of the occasion, James said: “Somehow all of these songs mean more to people now than they did when they were first released. They really resonate with my kids’ generation too.
“Bringing them back to life with a symphony orchestra, a kick ass band, some old friends and very special guests totally blew the roof off at Feastival and I absolutely cannot wait to get this show on the road.”
Owen Kent, Director of Events at RG Live who is helping with the production, added: “The energy at Big Feastival was off the scale – the crowd reaction made it instantly clear we had something special on our hands.
“Britpop Classical takes songs that people already love and reimagines them in a way that’s powerful, and totally exhilarating. Kicking off the tour at the Royal Albert Hall is the perfect way to launch what we believe will be one of 2026’s must-see shows.”
It follows the huge success of the likes of Oasis this summer, who were joined by Richard Ashcroft. And the Mancunian brothers are now also eyeing up Oscars success with a movie version of their reunion.
A film documenting their reunion tour is set to be released, which will feature behind-the-scenes footage. Magna Studios is behind the documentary and the film is said to be including the moment Noel and Liam came back together for the first time.
It has been reported that the famous siblings think they could be in with a chance of winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film and the equivalent award at the Baftas.
