Delhi Schools bomb threat: Chaotic scenes were witnessed at three Delhi schools on Wednesday after bomb threat emails were received at these institutions, prompting the evacuation of students and staff from the premises. According to officials, bomb threat emails were received in three private Delhi schools on Wednesday morning, prompting a a swift emergency response, including evacuation of staff and students.

Bomb threats were sent via email to The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, Delhi Public School in RK Puram, and the Lovely Public School in Laxmi Nagar, officials said, adding that the threat emails were received at around 10 am, claiming that explosives had been planted inside the premises.

“The information was immediately relayed to the local police, fire department and other emergency agencies. Multiple fire tenders, bomb disposal squads, dog squads and police teams were rushed to the spots. Students, teachers and staff members were evacuated and the premises were cordoned off,” they said.

According to the police, the bomb threats were declared a hoax as nothing suspicious was found during searches. “”As of now, there are no reports of anything suspicious found. The bomb threat has been declared a hoax.”

A student at the Lovely Public Senior Secondary School said they were in the middle of an exam when the bomb threat was reported, and all students were safely evacuated.

“We were writing our exam, and suddenly we were asked to assemble in the ground. When we reached there, we saw students from all the classes present there. Police, Ambulance and Fire Brigade were also present there. We got to know that an email was received. All the students have been safely taken out of the school,” ANI quoted a student as saying.

Following the bomb threat, the schools issued a notice to parents to collect their students as a precaution.

“Dear Parents, the school has received a bomb threat via email. As a precautionary measure, the school is dispersing the children. You are requested to kindly come and collect your child as per the schedule below: Nursery to Class 2: 9:30 AM, Class 3 to 5: 9:45 AM, Class 6 to 8: 9:55 AM, Class 9 and above: 10:15 AM,” The Indian School said in its message to parents.
