Bomb Squad Investigates Suspicious Package at Kyoto Station, DVD Discovered

KYOTO, Nov 03 (News On Japan) –
A suspicious package was discovered at Keihan Railway’s Chushojima Station in Kyoto on November 1st, prompting police to investigate the possibility of an explosive device.

According to authorities, around 2:30 p.m., a station employee reported to police that there was “a suspicious object wrapped in paper.” The item was found on the floor of a stall inside the men’s restroom located on the platform bound for Kyoto.

The package measured about 15 centimeters wide, 21 centimeters high, and 8 centimeters deep, and was wrapped in brown paper.

Later, investigators determined that the object was a commercially available DVD disc.

Keihan Railway said that more than 100,000 passengers were affected by the disruption caused by the investigation.
