‘Very limited knowledge’ on shooters, says Lanyon
By Daniel Lo Surdo
There was “very limited knowledge” on the younger shooter, who is now in police custody while his father — the other shooter – was fatally wounded at Bondi.
Both Lanyon and ASIO confirmed they were aware of the younger shooter, though didn’t understand they were planning the attack that occurred on Sunday.
Lanyon wouldn’t comment when asked if it was a failure that the older shooter was legally allowed to hold firearms, saying it would be “premature” to weigh in on such a topic.
“We want to get to the circumstances of everything that occurred yesterday and what led up to it,” Lanyon said.

By Daniel Lo Surdo
NSW Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon has refused to share details about a potential motive for the attack, and a possible manifesto left behind by the two shooters.
“We’re still very early in the investigation, we’re happy to provide information,” Lanyon said.
“I want to give our investigators the opportunity to investigate thoroughly without speculation. We heard a lot information was coming forward. I want to make sure it’s accurate … our investigation will be thorough.”

‘We need to fight antisemitism’: Minns
By Megan Gorrey
Premier Chris Minns says there must be a “strong and clear repudiation of antisemitism in all of its forms”.
“There’s no tolerance for racism or Jewish hatred in NSW or Australia, and we need to be clear and unambiguous that we’ll fight it everywhere we see it,” Minns said at a press conference.
“Whether it’s destructive, horrible acts of violence, or chants, mottos and internet posts on the internet. Wherever it is, we need to fight antisemitism, it is toxic, it is cancerous within a community, and as you can see from last night, it leads to devastating, devastating implications for the people of our country.”
Minns described the death of a 10-year-old girl in the attack as a “devastating fact”, and said there needed to be a “time for mourning”.
“We need to be in a position to bind up the wounds of the state’s Jewish community, and many people are asking how they can help.”
Shooter was a licensed firearm holder

Tourist shocked at Sydney terror
By Amber Schultz
German tourist Max comes to Sydney nearly every year, travelling with his wife and two children, aged six and one.
They had been out for the day and decided to stop at home before heading to the beach – a decision that may have saved them their lives.
As they shut their door to their rented Bondi apartment metres from the beach, they heard screams and shots ring out.
“I never expected this. It’s such a beautiful place with people playing sport, hanging out with family … this will leave a scar,” he said.
“For the people that live here, this will change the place.”
