Brayden Schenn wasted no time in showing the Islanders everything he can bring

ST. LOUIS — Brayden Schenn’s face is still plastered onto the Enterprise Center here in St. Louis, but he wasted no time in endearing himself to his new team.

The Islanders immediately saw the sort of value Schenn can bring in his debut, a chippy, physical 2-1 overtime win over the Sharks on Saturday night.

Early in the game, Kiefer Sherwood and Ryan Reaves were taking liberties with Matthew Schaefer, the target of opposing agitators all season. Schenn, The Post has learned, skated over to the Sharks bench and made clear two things. Further targeting of Schaefer would not be tolerated. And if it continued, there would be consequences.

It’s tough to think of a better way of making a good first impression, and the incident apparently came after Schenn had laid a thunderclap of a hit on Mario Ferraro late in the first period.
