David Beckham has shared a birthday message to son Brooklyn on Instagram despite the 27-year-old sending a legal letter asking his parents not to mention him on social media
David Beckham ignores Brooklyn’s social media ban – all you need to know
- David Beckham has defied his son Brooklyn’s legal request by posting a birthday message on Instagram to his 89 million followers.
- The former footballer shared a childhood photo of Brooklyn with the caption “27 today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you x.” Victoria also posted the same image despite Brooklyn’s explicit wishes.
- Brooklyn had sent his parents a legal “desist” letter last summer asking them not to mention him on social media. The letter warned that all communication should go through lawyers only.
- The family feud escalated when Brooklyn “went nuclear” in a seething Instagram statement in January, accusing his parents of sabotaging his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz. Within 48 hours, he blocked his immediate family on Instagram.
- Brooklyn is now reportedly working on a tell-all book inspired by Prince Harry to share his side of the story. He wants to express his experiences growing up in what he describes as a “fishbowl” where everything is scrutinised.
- However, PR specialist Kayley Cornelius warned the Mirror that the reported six-figure book deal may not be successful. She said: “While there is strong public curiosity around the Beckham family dynamic, much of that interest thrives on social media snippets, viral clips and easily digestible gossip, so translating that into hard book sales is another matter entirely.”
