Buccaneers’ Mike Evans helped off field in scary ‘Monday Night Football’ injury scene

Mike Evans exited Monday’s Buccaneers game against the Lions with five minutes left in the first half after hitting his head hard on the field after attempting to make a catch. 

The Buccaneers receiver nearly made the catch, but the replay showed as he was coming down with the ball, with a defender draped over him, his head slammed into the ground.

Evans looked to be in immediate distress and was tended to by the Buccaneers medical staff. 

He was able to walk off the field with assistance, but was visibly woozy as he was helped to the sideline with trainers. The 32-year-old was taken to the locker room on a cart.

The team announced he was ruled out of the game with a shoulder injury and concussion.

Tampa Bay trailed 14-0 at the time of the injury.
