New Delhi: The BJP is abuzz with rumours that the party’s new president could be announced before the Winter Session of Parliament commences on December 1. With polling in Bihar completed and exit polls predicting the NDA to retain power, speculation is rife that a Cabinet minister, who played a key role in the state, could succeed incumbent BJP president J.P. Nadda. Though the names of a couple of Union ministers are also doing the round for the post.

Sources disclosed that the issue was deliberated among the RSS top brass during the recently concluded three-day-long Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur.

According to sources, a senior RSS leader, who is credited for the BJP’s good performance in the last Maharashtra Assembly polls, could also get an additional responsibility with the party.

Nadda was named as the BJP working president in 2019 and then the national president. His term was extended for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
