The Garnier home dye has already sold out on Boots and Superdrug, despite only launching a week or two ago
It’s not an everyday occurrence when a product launches and then immediately sells out, but Garnier’s latest hair colour launch did just that. Just a few days after Olivia Attwood took to her socials to share her ‘hot honey’ hair transformation using the brand’s Good 7.33 Hot Honey Blonde Permanent Hair Dye, it flew off the shelves at Boots.
A week or so later, her exact shade has now also sold out on Superdrug. However, if you’re quick, you can still pick up a tub from Sainsbury’s, where it’s selling for £13.
Though Liv definitely kickstarted the hot honey trend, she’s not the only celeb showing off a hair transformation using this dye. Just this week former Love Island star Liberty Poole said she was going ‘a little spicier’ for spring using the very same product. Her transformation has sparked fans to say they couldn’t imagine her going back to blonde after seeing her with this spicy honey hue.
As for Liv’s hair, the star wrote in the caption of her reveal snap: “THE most asked question: ‘what colour is your hair?’ Well…your girl has her own hair colour shade. Garnier Good Hot Honey Blonde.”
“I guess I’m going hot honey blonde now,” commented one follower. Another wrote: “The best hair dye out there!”
A third said: “Beautiful! I’ve been wondering what you’ve been using actually.”

If you’re after a warm, natural-looking colour but can’t face the time (or cost) of a salon trip, this Garnier dye is a solid at-home option. The box comes with everything you need — colourant, developer, clear instructions and a little aftercare treatment — and it’s designed to give you even, long-lasting colour while still leaving your hair feeling soft rather than straw-like.
The application is pretty straightforward. Start with dry, unwashed hair and throw on an old T-shirt to avoid any splashes. Mix the colourant and developer as directed, then apply the creamy formula to your roots first before pulling it through the lengths. Take your time to make sure every strand is coated, and you’re good to go.
Once you’ve left it on for the recommended time, rinse your hair until the water runs clear, then finish with the included conditioning treatment to lock in shine and help the colour stay fresh. As far as box dyes go, it’s pretty straightforward and easy to manage at home.
If you’re tempted by a hot honey tone but want something a little less permanent, Josh Wood’s Copper Gold Hair Gloss is another good shout. It’s a conditioning, semi-permanent treatment that adds a soft strawberry-blonde warmth or boosts golden tones on light brown hair — with that glossy, just-done finish.
