Celine Dion fans were ecstatic at the potential news the Canadian singer is set for a comeback four years after she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome
Music fans across the globe rejoiced at the news that Celine Dion is reportedly ready to take to the stage again four years after revealing her devastating health diagnosis. As the Canadian singer celebrates turning 58, her loyal fans were eagerly awaiting an official announcement.
Celine Dion has not performed a full concert since the pandemic but fans are hoping she may be teasing a comeback after cryptic posters featuring her lyrics and song titles were spotted across Paris. The songstress was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome and had to cancel several planned performances in 2022 at very short notice following the sad news.
The condition affects between one to two people in every million and is a progressive neurological condition. It causes increasingly severe muscle stiffness and spasms, and for Celine this sadly extends to her vocal cords.

It’s thought any return to the stage could see Celine belt out her classics while sitting in a chair to avoid any issues. It’s reported Celine is in line for an initial 10-show run, completing two a week, at La Defense Arena in Paris.
The My Heart Will Go On singer has regularly spoken about her condition since revealing the news. Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) is often misdiagnosed as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or fibromyalgia. This is due to the fact it can trigger similar symptoms.
In 2024, worrying footage showed the singer laying on a bed while having convulsions. The scenes in her I Am: CelineDion showed the star with tears streaming down her face.
And speaking with the BBC in 2024, the Grammy winner also explained how she had been struggling with the symptoms for years before her diagnosis. She admitted she was occasionally forced to ask her backing musicians to change the key of certain songs for some performances.
But a year later, and Celine was seen in a much brighter condition. On Thanksgiving 2025, the artist posted a video to her followers as she reminded them to “slow down” and give thanks.
Another similar sentiment followed on New Year‘s Eve. A video along the same lines saw Celine looking fantastic in a cream suit. Before blowing a kiss to the camera, the icon said: “May the 2026 year bring peace to your heart, light to your path, and space to dream. Happy New Year, from me to you.”
She has previously praised her 15-year-old sons for being her biggest support system. And she admitted she has had buttons installed in her house in case of an emergency. She told People: “We have panic buttons in the house, and they know how to put me on my side.
“The idea of telling them and showing them, it was not to frighten them. It is for them to know, ‘I’m your mom, and it’s my responsibility. You’re old enough to understand I might need your help.”
