Pop icon Cher has stunned fans by how young she looks during a US TV promo with Wicked star Ariana Grande. The age-defying star, 79, shocked viewers in the Saturday Night Live promo, alongside Ariana Grande and Bowen Yang.
The music legend will be the musical guest on Friday 20 December – her second appearance on the show since her 1987 appearance, while actress Ariana, 32, will be hosting for the third time running.
In the clip in question, which landed on Instagram on Thursday, Cher appeared alongside Ariana and SNL star Bowen, 35, in a glam blue blouse, as the trio performed a series of sketches at Studio 8H.

In Thursday’s promo video, Cher stage-slapped both Ariana and Bowen as the pair expressed their marvel that they were in her presence.. ‘Am I dreaming?’ Bowen asked before being ‘slapped’ by Cher, who then shouted, ‘Snap out of it!’
Ariana and Bowen then turn to each other and excitedly exclaim, ‘Cher just slapped us!’
In the next promo skit, Cher tells the pair that she ‘brought gifts’ for them. ‘What is it?’ Bowen asks, to which Cher replies with a grin, ‘My presence.’
But it wasn’t the hilarious skits that got people talking – it was Cher’s incredibly fresh, wrinkle-free looks – as well as her tiny waist and silky long black hair which immediately drew a slew of comments from fans in the comments section.
One gobsmacked admirer wrote: “Can we just talk about how Cher is SEVENTY-NINE years old and still looks like a goddess???” while another penned: “Cher does not age”
Others quipped that the singer must be a “vampire”, while others commented that she was actually “ageing backwards.”
Cher’s youthful looks aren’t simply the product of some very fortunate DNA, however. The star has been open in the past about how much cosmetic work she’s put into looking so good in her eighth decade.
She has gone under the knife in the pursuit of youth, admitting previously to a face lift, a breast augmentation and a rhinoplasty.
Opening up defiantly about her facelift in 2018, she said, “Yes, I have had a facelift, but who hasn’t?”.
The last time Cher was seen on the hit US talksnow was back in February, when she appeared in a cameo in the Saturday Night Live 50th Anniversary Special.
The global star’s SNL gig comes just a week after she broke her silence on whether she would tie the knot with her toyboy, 39-year-old Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards.
Married twice before, a spokesperson for Cher poured cold water on speculation that she was planning on walking down the aisle for a third time. They said ‘There are absolutely no plans for a wedding in her future.’
