Child hit by train at station in Brisbane’s north

A child has been hit by a train at a railway station on Brisbane’s north side.

Police said they were called to the station at Carseldine, about 15km north of the CBD, just before 6pm on Saturday.

The child was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a life-threatening condition, they said.

Translink said train services to Caboolture, the Sunshine Coast and Redcliffe Peninsula had been suspended between Geebung and Petrie.

At 7.28pm, they said services had resumed, but passengers could experience delays of up to an hour.

Police said they were still investigating what had happened.
