Christine McGuinness has opened up on her divorce from Paddy McGuinness in a candid new chat where she reveals how their separation was the ‘hardest decision’

Christine McGuinness has opened up about how divorcing her husband Paddy McGuinness was the “hardest decision” of her life. Speaking in a new interview she confessed that ending their 11 year marriage was incredibly difficult as she came to terms with what was happening between them

Christine, 37, appears on the new episode of the Tea Time podcast with Will Njobvu, which was released on Sunday evening. During the chat she discussed a variety of topics including her life since her divorce, as well as what it felt like being pictured kissing a girl for the first time.

The model also addresses the topics of autism, and mental health, as she addresses her recent medical diagnoses and confesses if she would like to take part in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! Speaking about her divorce she said, “Divorcing Paddy McGuinness was the hardest decision of my life.

“Sometimes love isn’t enough. I said, if I keep allowing this now, I’m disrespecting myself. It’s not easy walking away, you’ve got to have your boundaries. Before things get worse, let’s just end it amicably.”

The mum-of-three also confessed how she “begged her doctor for help,” after announcing their separation “because of the noise outside.” Talking on the podcast Christine also addresses her living situation as she and Paddy continue to share the same house despite being divorced.

The candid chat comes after Christine hinted that she is planning to pen a tell-all memoir about her experiences. Christine is no stranger to writing about her life, having previously published an autobiography that hit shelves in 2021.

She has now confirmed she’s considering crafting a follow-up book, describing it as a heartfelt tribute to those who have stood by her. Her initial memoir covered her journey up to the time of publication, chronicling her path to fame and her romance with Take Me Out personality Paddy McGuinness.

However, much has changed for the star after her separation from the television host, as well as her navigating her recent autism diagnosis.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Christine shared, “I did an autobiography about four years ago and some big things have happened since then. It would be amazing to do a second one; I can write about what happened next – I love writing.”

Christine has been through some significant life changes over the last four years, leaving her with plenty to talk about in a book. She continued, “I’ve never written about being diagnosed with autism and ADHD. I can write about that part of my life as well as other stuff.”

She added, “It’s amazing to get to do an autobiography. When you do one, you have to be honest and personal. You have to embrace it.”
